TONALLI STUDIO is the first female owned wellness/art space in East Los Angeles.Our original team that lovingly created TONALLI STUDIO in 2013, founded by Maestra Ofelia Esparza, Rosanna Esparza Ahrens, Dr. Elena Esparza, DC., Erendira Bernal, Marialice Jacob, a team of like-minded women, fiercely focus on cultivating community through the arts. We spent several months setting intentions and visioning a Creative Wellness space. We are so proud to share this space with our East L.A. community.

TONALLI is that which emanates the universal creative energy --The Life Force. Our studio, located in the heart of East Los Angeles. is a place of creative wellness that is proud to feature local artists from the East Side. We bridge the practices of art and wellness to cultivate community through art exhibitions, poetry, music, movement and an array of wellness workshops.

MISSION: TONALLI STUDIO activates creative wellness by intentionally calling into attention and recognizing our traditional cultural practices as streams of healing and empowerment that transform a “marginalized” community into a focal point of viability, and agency.

VISION: TONALLI STUDIO strives to be a model of local artist empowerment in communities of color. Affirming life by reconnecting communities to their roots through culturally based traditional arts practices that waken earth consciousness, empower community values and viable entrepreneurship.
